Dear Friends, Students, and Past Clients,
On October 8, 2024, Tim and I, along with our two doodles, will be moving from Corvallis, Oregon, to Lake Oswego, Oregon, where we’ll join a senior living community at Mary’s Woods, a beautiful 40-acre campus on the site of the old Marist College. My son Tobias, a professor and department chair at UC Davis, spent a day with us on campus. After seeing the unending announcements of classes, concerts, and speakers, he said, “Mom, I’ve been in academia all of my life, and I hope you realize you and Tim are going back to college.” I love to frame it that way, and in many ways it is true. The next chapter is an opportunity filled with unique challenges, gifts and lots more to learn.
I have lived in Corvallis for 44 years, and it’s been a privilege and a joy to serve our community as a therapist, a teacher and participant in many communication skills–based groups, and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church. My children attended Corvallis schools, and I partly attribute their success in life to the wonderful teachers here. I appreciate my connections with so many of you—professional or personal, casual, or deep.
In my Lake Oswego life, I will continue my work as a therapist. Later this year, I will get a part-time office for in-person visits while continuing to conduct most of my sessions virtually. Licensed as both a psychotherapist in Oregon and a life coach nationally, I work with people throughout the U.S. My couple intensives will continue to be offered in Lake Oswego, Portland, San Francisco and San Diego, and my Love Skills class will resume online later this year.
I am so grateful to this community—to my wonderful, brave clients, to the friends I have made, and to the exceptional professionals who have helped and supported myself and my family in myriad ways.
All the best,
